HELP NEEDED URGENTLY .....
I am writing an article for a children's magazine and need to find out (quickly !)the correct rules for lawn bowls. Can anyone help ?
And the bowls that Drake was (supposedly) playing when the Armada was sighted - was that lawn bowls as we know it today or more like petanque ? Weighted bowls or not ?
Many thanks !

Apparently it is said and known that Drake had equipped his ship " The Pasha " with Bowls for the recreation of his crew whilst resting on an island in the Gulf of Darien off Panama. The Bowls were possibly made of Lignum Vitae and made by the ship's carpenters in Plymouth - and it was the Game of Bowls similar to to-days game.
