hello, I'm 17 and play bowls in Raumati, NZ. In reply to the person before, Mark Delacy has a primo book called "Think and Play Better Bowls" and he also has a real hot daughter that goes to my college. ANYWAY. I think wearing whites is alright, though to be a real bowler you need to join Raumati South Bowling Club and wear the 'green machine' shirts. We have a National Under-19s here (which I came 2nd in) and one of the biggest things people lost interest was because of a few, strict, unfriendly older men who don't make it that enjoyable. Oh well, people will be like that, but the other experienced bowlers should step in and tell others to be friendlier or something. I've never really had problems though down at friendly Kapiti and Raumati. Cheers, laterz
