ETTIQUETTE OF BOWLS .....
Over the last few weeks I have played teams that have been very rude and done things like moving around whilst I am on the mat, shouting for wicks and shouting to make my bowls keep away from the head. These were older women that should know better!
I hope ettiquette is not dying. What does everyone else think?

Hi Donna
I think that the ettiquette of our game is slowly disappearing
but it seems to be happening in all sports not just bowls.
it is a shame that the newer bowlers are not explained this to them when they start.
but dont lower yourself to their level

HI! Donna
As a player of only 3months.A lot of talk has gone on about me moving my hands egging the bowl on and clapping a bowl from my Team being hit by opposition and finishing up the shot. I am not clapping a bad bowl but the fact we now hold the shot. What is wrong with me moving my hands to egg a bowl on or telling mine to go.Where are these things written down? 1)Using White cloth to place the shot bowl on? 2)The above 3)Loud talking I can understand but surely leads sitting on the bank can talk?...I cannot find any written rules
about some of the stupid things Women do I'm afraid. Why can't we play the game with respect for each other/quiteness and in general common sense. "It is those little acts that help make our game such a wonderful creator of sociability, friendship, courtesy, dignity and charm to the game". Friendly sporting acts toward your team-mates and opponents are appreciated and reciprocated.Use cristian names at introduction/acknowledge a good shot from either team. Smile often as a smile is worth millions. This would all add to the enjoyment of the game.I would love a quick answer on this if you have one as our club has no book on Etiquette but talk a lot about it.Thank you so much. Marge
