BOWLS COMPETITIONS .....
Among the competitions held at our club we have 2 wood and 4 wood handicaps. there is always discussion abut the handicaps theat are given. Has anyone any ideas or system how handicaps should be applied.

There is no universal system of handicaps. You really need to look for best and worst players and decide number of shots separating them. The worst player may need a handicap of 15 to stand any chance of beating the best player. Starting from there work through the rest of the players handicaps on a shot by shot basis. If a wider range of handicaps is needed the better players could be given a minus handicap.
