The Clubs Directory allows Clubs to list full details about themselves and their Handbooks.
To make it easy to find an club, you can either scroll through the list in alphabetical order by clicking on the blue 'Read' button, or Search the record files by clicking on the 'Search' button.
The files may be searched for any word or combination of words, to speed up the process of locating records containing them. The Club Search Routine has an additional built in limiter so you can restrict your search if you wish to a particular country.
You can add a NEW record by clicking on the blue ADD button. The entry fields are:-
- CONTACT NAME. Preferably full name and title Mr Francis Briggs, then there is no question whether you are male or female, or prefer Ms or are another F. Briggs!
- POSITION Secretary/Treasurer/Event Organiser - whatever your title in relation to the Club you represent.
- YOUR PHONE Enter your home telephone if you wish. The international code will help those abroad. You have room to enter office and/or extension numbers too!
- YOUR FAX As above but for fax.
- YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS Enter your own e-mail address. Clicking on your name will allow people to e-mail you, and if you select confirmation of your entry we need it for that. Failure to enter your own email will cause our mailing program to default to the next email address available from the Advertising Contact or the Club.
- CLUB NAME 'Boston Indoor Bowling Club OR 'Middlewick Short Mat Bowling Club' OR whatever, but make it clear - don't abbreviate!
- ADDRESS The address boxes are fairly self-explanatory. You will get an error message if you submit the form with only part of an address.
- COUNTRY (of Club) If the Country you require is not listed, select 'UNLISTED' and enter the Country in the alternative box. This entry is required for the Search Routine and it is necessary that it is exactly as other entries for that Country so that they are selected as a group. The Country list will be presented before the Entry page, so that the correct County/State/Province field can be offered.
- CLUB POSTCODE/ZIP(required) Enter your Club's postcode/zip. Apart from its regular usage, it is a user check for administration purposes. It is also CASE SENSITIVE so enter it as it should be used so that you will know how to enter it later.
- CLUB PHONE Enter your Club Phone. The international code will help those abroad. You have room to enter office and/or extension numbers too!
- FAX As above but for fax.
- CLUB E-MAIL Enter your CLUB e-mail address. If you select confirmation of your entry and have not entered any other email address, we need it for that.
- OTHER INFORMATION Select the Type of Club and whether it is Men Only, Ladies Only or Mixed. The rest of the information is not essential, but if you can, please complete it in the interests of making this a comprehensive database.
- HANDBOOK INFORMATION If your Club has a Handbook, you can give details of where to obtain it and its price and issue date. Also you can provide information on who to contact to advertise in your handbook.
- AFFILIATIONS (Limit 600 characters) Enter the names of any Organization or Club to which your club is affiliated.
- ADDITIONAL ITEMS OF INTEREST You have up to 600 characters to give additional information.
- PASSWORD This entry is to prevent others from changing or deleting your entry without your knowledge. It doesn't matter what it is so long as you can remember it! It is case sensitive, so remember to note which are Capital letters and which are not.
Change your Entry or Delete it. You will need to identify yourself with your password in order to be able to do this. (This is to protect your entries from unauthorised access.) You will need to enter the password you created when you entered the record and your Club's postcode/zip. It should be noted that both Passwords and Postcode/Zips are case sensitive ('a' is not the same as 'A') When your password has been accepted, the entry made with it will set out in a form, so you can make changes as required. Some entries have been made automatically - in this case you can obtain the temporary password from the record itself. (for as long as the password contains the word temp, it will be displayed with the record to enable the record to be taken over by the club concerned)
Clicking on 'read' will allow you to scroll through an list of club names, in alphabetical order. In this Directory, because it has many records, read has selectable limits to Countries actually in use and Club Types.
FAQS (Frequently Asked Questions) may answer the queries you have about the using the Club Directory.
BACK TO MAT will return you to The Lawn Bowls Home Page
Our pages are protected by a bad-words eliminator. We ask your indulgence at first as we will be expanding this file as we go along. (The author does not have a good (?) vocabulary of bad words - but this is NOT an invitation to educate me !!)
