On a sunny afternoon a number of players wander down to their local club and, according to the position they play, a tab or counter is put into a bag. The tabs are draw so that teams are formed at random.
Whilst this system prevents 'cliques' of better players avoiding new comers, the only draw-back (excuse the pun!) to this system is that it is truly random and not necessarily very well balanced.
This program is designed to create a 'play chart'. It was intended that no one player normally plays in the same team as another more than once in a block of games, nor the same rink more than twice, (unless playing regularly as a substitute). However, the way to hell is paved with good intentions, and mathematical constrictions, have proved a stumbling block..! However, the program does give a fairly good spread, is quicker than the 'bag' method and prevents one player from being stuck time and again on one or two rinks.
NB.If you operate a points system for scoring the players, you can produce a regular report using our league results program.
