NEW TO BOWLS .....
I am a rather large brute and am taking up bowls. How do i know what size ball to get and what exactly to the sizes equate to??

Hold the bowl in both hands with fingers tretched around the outside circumfrance, your two middle fingers should just touch one another. Its best to just choose the next size down for comfort... If your buying old bowls of ebay the link below will give you a chart from old standards to new...

THAT'S A GOOD ANSWER BUT CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT SIZE A BOWL IS IF IT SAY'S 4&15/16th's....IS IT A SIZE 4??? HELP!!!

HI Darren,<br>The sizes range from size 00 to 7 and are available in differing weights for most of these sizes. The actual size is the diameter ie. a 4 15/16" has a circumference of 15.51"<br>A Size 2 BOWL IS 4 13/16" dia. Have a look at my web site www.miltonhill.go-plus.net If you go to the 'Short Mat bowls' page you can down-load the book and the various sizes are shown. There is also a book on outdoor lawn bowling you can download for free.<br>Hope this helps.
