THE GAME OF HOME CARPET BOWLS

Comments collated by Lesley Dickinson

Home Carpet BowlsThe game of Home Carpet Bowls is really just a 'parlour game'. (not to be confused with Short Mat - which is also often called 'Carpet Bowls'). It is played in the house on the carpet and can be good fun, but the tiny bowls are only some 63mm or 2½ inches in diameter and take some controlling if you are a 'proper' bowler. Basically the game is similar to flat green bowls in miniature.

The bowls can be purchased as a set of eight either 2" or 2.5" diameter bowls with jack at about £40-60 in the UK and are made by Henselite, Jaques and Brookes and Adams (Banda).
