Australia’s Aaron Teys and Carla Krizanic have both earned passage to the post-sectional rounds of the World Champion of Champions this evening at NSW’s St Johns Park.
The pair capped off their sectional campaigns in scintillating style today, with Teys notching up three wins and Krizanic two victories from as many starts to leap-frog their way into the top three positions and secure a spot in the penultimate day’s action on Saturday.
Teys’ victories saw him finish in second place, one game behind Scotland’s Derek Oliver, while Krizanic was relegated to third position, but by only sets, trailing England’s Donna Knight and South Africa’s Nici Neal.
The result means the pair must escape the elimination stage tomorrow morning, with the top places earning direct passage to the semi-finals.
Teys will encounter Fiji’s Arun Kumar in the elimination final at 10.00am, and should he win, he will then play Wales’ David Kingdon in the semi-final at 2.00pm.
Krizanic must overcome Malaysia’ Emma Saroji in her elimination rubber at 10.00am, in order to book a semi-final ticket to battle England’s Donna Knight at 2.00pm.
Bowls Australia will showcase the elimination matches, semi-finals and Sunday’s finals via Rinkside Live live-streaming on www.facebook.com/BowlsAustralia from 10.00am.
