Australian ITO’s endorsed for 2018 Commonwealth Games

With the 2018 Commonwealth Games fast approaching the Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee have commenced their search for the world’s best International Technical Officials to officiate at bowls’ premier event.

Last week Bowls Australia endorsed 22 International Technical Officials to officiate at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and international lead up events.

The 22 ITO applications, which were narrowed down from the 42 applications Bowls Australia received, were sent to World Bowls and GOLDOC for final selection.

All selected ITOs will participate in a Training and Development Program ensuring that all ITOs are proficient and obtain the required skill set to officiate at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The program consists of multiple on green training days, attending and officiating at international events as well as team meetings and team development sessions.

All ITOS will be attending the Multi Nations Event at the Broadbeach Bowls Club in June 2017 which will be utilised as a dress rehearsal for the Commonwealth Games in April 2018.

Congratulations to all of Australia’s ITO’s who have been selected.
