Jackaroos take the early lead

Australia has taken the early lead at the Trans Tasman Test Series following a strong start this morning at Broadbeach Bowls Club.

The Jackaroos claimed three victories from four starts in the Senior event this morning, winning the men’s and women’s pairs disciplines as well as the women’s triples, while the Blackjacks drew first blood in the men’s triples.

The Development team finished the round in a similar position, with Australia’s men’s triples going down by a slender shot, 14-15, but secured victories in the other three disciplines.

As a result, Australia is well positioned to defend its seven trophy haul that in secured at the last event in June from the Senior event; in the Men’s, Women’s, Development Men’s, Development Women’s, Overall, Overall Development and Para-Sport trophies, but with eight sessions to go across the three tests, there’s still plenty of time for New Zealand to hit their straps.
