Jayden Christie called up to Development team

Last week, Bowls Australia announced the 28-strong team to contest next month’s Trans Tasman Test Series.

In announcing the squad, the national selection panel unknowingly chose an ineligible player to participate in the Development team, which has set criteria to ensure only up-and-coming players compete and not those who have already represented at benchmark events.

Adelaide’s Scott Thulborn was selected, but had in fact already competed for the Australian Jackaroos at last June’s Trans Tasman event, which renders him unable to take to the green for a Development team.

The selection panel have revisited the make-up of the team and have elected to include young Club Helensvale ace Jayden Christie as Thulborn’s replacement.

Bowls Australia, on behalf of the national selection panel, apologise to Scott Thulborn for the error and congratulate Jayden Christie on his forthcoming opportunity.
