Mildura stalwart receives top Volunteer gong

Mildura Workers Bowls Club stalwart Ron Boyd has been recognised for his tireless efforts with the Mallee Sports Assembly (MSA) 2017 Volunteer of the Year award.

Over 280 people across Mildura were in attendance at a recent gala to celebrate the achievements of the local sporting community in 2017.

Boyd was successful on the night in taking out the volunteer recognition award, one of 12 awards up for grabs.

He has been a long-standing member of the club for over 10 years, holding a multitude of positions in that time.

A dedicated administrator and volunteer always with the club’s best interest at heart, Boyd has been indispensable to the Mildura Workers Club over the years raising the longevity of the club two-fold.

Boyd is just one example of many a volunteer across the country who fuel the sport of bowls at the grassroots level, allowing it to prosper and flourish.

Bowls Australia (BA) would like to congratulate Ron on his achievements as well as all the unheralded volunteers across the country.
