Moorabbin BC lead a thirst for bowls education in Melbourne's south-east

The Moorabbin Bowling Club has recently hosted a Selection Module, with 22 people undertaking the course.

The club, located in Melbourne’s south-east, is experiencing an increase in social participants converting to affiliated members and were eager to find a way to provide training for members to gain new skills and knowledge to develop, improve and succeed.

After having discussions with their Regional Bowls Manager about the options available within the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme, the club requested to host a Selection Module for anyone to attend.

Members of Armadale, Ballan, Hampton, Parkdale, Melbourne Cricket Club Bowls Section, and Moorabbin were among the attendees on the night.

The Selection Module is designed for club coaches, selectors and others who are keen to ensure their club has best practice selection standards.

Coaches should attend these workshops to learn more about benchmarking players, which can assist with selection, while selectors and committee members are advised to attend this workshop to learn how to create a selection policy and a healthy philosophy for their club.

You do not need to be an accredited coach to attend a workshop – it’s open to players, committee members, selectors and other interested persons.

If you are interested in completing the Selection Module, contact your state/territory association for details on upcoming courses!
