Bowls Australia (BA) is delighted to announce recent inductee to the West Australian Bowls Hall of Fame Therese Hastings as a new National Selector.
Hastings, a name that needs no introduction in West Australian bowls, replaces the outgoing Beth Quinlan, who stood down from the position after three years and eight months in the role.
A former decorated state and national bowler, Hastings has also been a WA Coach and Board Member, National Training Centre (NTC) coach and Perth Suns mentor, having extensive experience in coaching and nurturing young talent.
With 187 appearances for West Australia, multiple state, and national titles to her name including three Australian Opens, Hastings enjoyed a remarkable playing career.
In further news, Kelvin Kerkow OAM and Dave Stockham have also been reappointed in their National Selector roles, with National Coach Steve Glasson OAM to chair the committee.
The term of the trio’s appointments will begin from Friday, June 8, 2018, and will run through until Friday, June 12, 2020, during which time they will oversee squads for events like the 2020 World Bowls Championships, as well as other touring events.
Bowls Australia would like to congratulate Kelvin and David on their re-appointments, welcome Therese to her new role, and thank Beth for her tireless service over the past four years.
