My name is Paul and I launched LawnBowls.com in late 2024.
The site was born out of a vision to help 2 main groups.
Lawn Bowlers and the Bowling Clubs themselves.
My goal is to push more traffic to bowling clubs all around the world, as I believe they are a key part of local communities and offer a number of advantages to all.
In other words, I built the site for everyone, and hope everyone gets something out of it.
This Lawn Bowls directory serves two distinct groups, let’s go over these below.
The first group the site serves are Lawn Bowlers.
I built this Lawn Bowls directory from the ground up to help bowlers find local clubs, social games & tournaments. This site uses a convenient geolocation feature to help bowlers pinpoint nearby clubs.
An advanced search feature also allows bowlers to search for clubs by state/region/city/etc. This is particularly useful for those moving house, or planning an upcoming holiday or road trip.
Each Bowling Club listing has a description that includes an overview of the club, contact information, facilities available, playing surface, and they also have the ability to list social games and tournaments they run.
If you are a bowler, I hope LawnBowls.com provides everything you need, all in one place.
We currently have the following live listings:
The second group the site serves is Bowling Clubs, and their bowls committees.
Most Bowling Club are too busy to focus on web design & building a website, search engine optimization, and all online type fun stuff, or they just don’t have the budget or knowledge how to do it themselves.
I would imagine this situation is even more common among regional areas where most clubs are completely run by volunteers.
At the same time, neglecting the opportunities to connect with bowlers online is a big mistake. The next generation of bowlers (the 30 and under crowd) relies almost exclusively on search engines and online reviews to plan their Lawn Bowls schedules.
That’s where LawnBowls.com comes into play. My goal is to connect more bowlers to Bowling Clubs like yours.
Why, you ask? Because I was a bowls coordinator of a small volunteer based club with zero budget, and I know firsthand that pulling in online traffic can transform a struggling Bowling Club into a successful thriving one.
If you’re a Bowling Club manager, coordinator or volunteer, I genuinely want to contribute to your success. Every Bowling Club starts with a free listing. This is my gift to you.
There may be paid options available in the future to help fund site maintenance & improvements, but for now, i’ll take care of that cost myself.
With permission, some of the images from Australian based clubs used on this website are sourced from a wonderful couple who love bowls as much as we do.
Mal & Jean.
They are currently travelling around Australia and are writing a blog about their travels.
You can read their stories and follow their journey on the blog website here.
Thank you Jean for allowing us to use your photos to share with the world.
Happy Travels!
