Canford Bowling Club

Our thriving club is based in Canford Park, Westbury-on-Trym with the clubhouse and green tucked away in the south west corner of the park just past the tennis courts.

The club was founded in 1913 and is affiliated to Bowls England, The Gloucestershire Bowls Association and the City and County of Bristol Bowling Association, allowing our members to compete in local friendly matches as well as prestigious county competitions for our top players.

The bowling season usually starts in early April and last through until early October and activities on the green are to be found most evenings and afternoons with a ‘Roll Up’ on Monday evenings when all members are welcome; friendly matches against many local clubs as well as league matches  in the many Men’s and Ladies local leagues.

We have some 60 members  and  balance the wishes of our top players for league success with the hopes of our  other members to have fun in internal competitions and local friendly matches. Throughout the year we have a range of social events including skittles matches, curry evenings and quiz nights and these opportunities have been enhanced with our close association with the Ardagh Bowling Club who currently share our green.
