A place where people want to be, just hang out and spend periods of time communing with one another. Someplace that has a minimum barrier to entry, but also this sense that people are welcome to hang out there and not necessarily be rushed out the door.

A place where you can have a conversation with people who aren’t very much like you, and who you would not run into in the otherwise normal course of your day. It could be a teacher, a nano physicist, a firefighter, a judge or your neighbour. But once the judge’s robes are off, the playing field is always level and the competition friendly.
