Marton Bowling Club

Established in 1902, our club continues to be a thriving sports organisation in the rural Rangitikei town of Marton. Located in Hereford Street, the club has two greens – one full size and one three quarter size.

Our season’s programme includes a full range of club championship events over all disciplines as well as nine tournament days featuring a variety of events and formats with good prizes on offer for all those events. We also participate in Bowls Wanganui championship and inter-club tournaments and many of our members regularly participate in competitions in neighbouring centres.

Our club days are Wednesday and Saturday afternoons with entries taken up to 1pm and play commencing a 1:15pm. On those occasions dress is mufti although the requirement for flat-soled shoes to be worn on the greens does apply. We have a well-appointed clubhouse with full kitchen and bar facilities including room to cater for up to 100 people.

As well as providing a pleasant, comfortable environment for members to gather and socialise our pavilion is also available to other groups and organisations to hire at cost-effective rates. Marton Bowling Club welcomes visiting players from out of town. Our gate is always open to anyone with an interest in taking up lawn bowls.
