Tanglin Club

The Tanglin Club has a world class Lawn Bowls facility, at the fourth floor of the Sports Complex. It has a sand filled synthetic surface, and is the most modern in Singapore, featuring six rinks of 40m in the east-west direction, and eight rinks of 34m in the north-south direction. It can accommodate a maximum of 64 players at any one time.

In the late afternoon, the green is shaded by the surrounding buildings, and the constant breeze makes late afternoon and evening play most pleasant and enjoyable under the flood lights. The drainage system for the green is very effective and enables play to recommence within half an hour once rain stops.

All necessary equipment is available on-site for the use of Members, and this includes bowls of various sizes and weights, as well as mats, jacks and measuring tools etc. Equipment lockers are available to Section Members.

During the course of play, refreshments can be ordered from Tangles. The only essential items required by all players are flat-soled sports or bowls shoes and a collared polo shirt of any colour. We wear Club uniforms only for tournaments.

The Section Committee organises free coaching, practice matches, Club tournaments and social games. Friendly matches with other clubs and visiting overseas teams, the Interclub leagues and regular overseas bowls Tours and Interport matches are organised periodically.

The Lawn Bowls Section welcomes new players of any standard, including "never bowled before". This is the game that couples of any age can play together on equal terms; just register at the sports reception to get started.
