Daventry Town Bowling Club was founded in 1901 and is affiliated to Bowls England and Bowls Northampton.
Our outdoor season of lawn bowls runs from April to September and we play Short Mat Bowls in the clubhouse from October to March. We are pleased to support Disability Bowls. Six outdoor rinks are available during the summer months and two short mats in the winter.
Our main club night during the outdoor season is Friday from 6pm. These are very sociable evenings and an ideal time for new members to "come and have a go". All you need is a flat pair of shoes. With a friendly atmosphere and a well stocked bar you can’t go wrong.
Short mat is played on a Wednesday afternoon from 1.30pm and Friday evening from 7pm. If you would like to give this a try you would be made most welcome.
During the outdoor season there are many friendly matches with a mixture of home and away games which usually take place on Thursdays or Saturdays. These games are mixed men's and ladies' and suitable for all abilities giving new and experienced players the opportunity to play together. Monday night is the men's triples league in Northampton and we are represented by three teams. As well as Friday being a social night two teams of our ladies represent the club in the Northampton ladies' triples league.
Roll-ups can be played any time after 1pm on days the green is not in use.
Bowls can be played whatever your age or ability and is an ideal sport for families to play together.
