Club Information
The club was founded under the name of Lomas Academy Athletic Club, on the corner of Laprida and Necochea streets. Two years later the name Lomas Athletic Club was officially established.
Its founders were John Cowes, Thomas Dodds and James Gibson, assisted by the two directors of Lomas Academy, RL Goodfellow and WW Hayward. From these names emerged the first president of the institution, Thomas Dodds.
There were captains for cricket, rugby, football and golf, disciplines that together with tennis formed the core of its activities.
