Palmer Park Bowling Club

The club was established in 1910 and is affiliated to Bowls England and the Royal County of Berkshire Bowling Association. Palmer Park Bowling Club is a friendly, sociable, mixed bowling club which welcomes new members with or without experience. The Club is located in Palmer Park, Wokingham Road, Reading, RG6 1LF  with easy access and good parking facilities near the leisure centre and stadium, Parking is free for up to 3 hours, details here.

The bowling green and clubhouse are leased from Reading Borough Council and we have full responsibility for maintenance. The bowling facilities are excellent with a well-maintained green, a smartly appointed Clubhouse with a licenced bar and ladies’ and gentlemen’s changing rooms. There is a full program of internal competitions together with mixed, men’s and ladies’  friendly and league matches with local (and not so local) clubs.

During the season (late April to early September) free coaching and introductory sessions are available for both beginners and improvers by arrangement as well as social mornings on most Thursdays. Club night is held every Monday evening from 6 pm and everyone, including new bowlers, can enjoy either a friendly competition or some informal play.
