At Presteigne Bowling Club, every decision is about supporting members and the local community. Like many small clubs, rising energy costs were putting pressure on their limited funds, so they applied for a Sport Wales Energy Saving Grant.
With this funding, they installed solar panels and storage batteries at both their Social Club and bowling green pavilion. The result is lower electricity bills, more money to invest in facilities, and an even better experience for their members.
The work was carried out by a local company, employing people from Presteigne and helping the town’s economy. By making these energy-efficient improvements, the club is also supporting sustainability and protecting the environment.
Thanks to this grant, Presteigne Bowling Club can continue being a vibrant, welcoming hub for the community, bringing people together with confidence in their long-term future.
