Canada caused a major upset on Day 8 of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, with John Bezear and Ryan Bester defeating Scotland legends Paul Foster MBE and Alex Marshall MBE on a tiebreak.

Northern Ireland’s Gary Kelly also delivered a stunning final-bowl conversion against Australia, while Alison Merrien MBE became the latest athlete to secure a women’s singles semi-final place.

With sectional play concluding tomorrow, several sections remain wide open and eight semi-finals will follow later in the day.
