Ronalyn Redima Greenlees’ campaign in the World Bowls Champion of Champions ended in the quarterfinals, matching her last-eight finish in the 2017 edition of the tournament.

The veteran international lawn bowler bowed to England’s Stef Branfield in a tie-break, 0-4, ending her bid to advance to the semifinals.

Greenlees took the opening set with a commanding 11-0 win but dropped the second set in a closely fought battle, 5-6.

Another Philippine bet, Homer Mercado, finished the preliminary rounds with a 2-4 record and failed to advance to the final series.

“We did very well, considering that we did not have enough days to practice and adjust to the weather, which was around 10 degrees,” Greenlees told Sports Radio.

“This is the most prestigious event in lawn bowls because only champions are eligible to compete,” she added.
