This week is New Zealand Sign Language (NSZSL) week

This week is New Zealand Sign Language (NSZSL) week and is a week to celebrate that it is 20 years since sign language became an official language.

This spirit of inclusion continues today with celebrating the naming of the 2027 World Championships Management Team for Deaf Lawn Bowls NZ

A rigorous process has resulted in this very strong leadership group being appointed. A large number of leading Coaches and Administrators wanted to be part of this group. Hazel Littlejohn, current President of Deaf Lawn Bowls NZ commented that “we are amazed that so many good people want to help us”.

The Management Team is:

Head Coach
Janice Paap (Bowls New Zealand Coach of Year 2025-26)

Assistant Coach

Selectors
Convenor
Peter Thorne (Coach Bowls Tonga, extensive Coaching and playing experience)

Co-Selectors
Robyn Reihana (Coach Auckland 1-5 and New Zealand Blindjacks)

Congratulations to all. We look forward to you leading this team to success in Newcastle, Australia in September 2027.
