For Volunteer Week, we’re taking a moment to acknowledge Alan Jones, winner of the Gallagher Insurance Volunteer of the Year at the 2026 Canterbury Sports and Recreation Awards.
Alan has given more than five decades of service to the Leeston Bowls Club. As greenkeeper, he helped bring the club’s facilities up to Bowls New Zealand national standard, supporting Leeston to host section play during the 2026 National Singles and Pairs.
A well-deserved recognition for an incredible contribution to community sport. 🙌
