What makes the Commonwealth Games different from every other bowls event?
For many athletes, it is the pinnacle of their career. Unlike World Bowls events, the Commonwealth Games places bowls within a much larger multi-sport environment, where athletes live, compete and share the experience alongside thousands of competitors from across the Commonwealth.
In his latest column for Bowls International , commentator and former Commonwealth Games athlete David Corkill reflects on competing at the Games, the evolution of the competition format, and some of the memorable moments he’s witnessed over four decades, both on the green and in the commentary box.
