With less than a month to go until Glasgow 2026, more details are emerging about what athletes and fans can expect from the Bowls and Para Bowls competition.

Competition at the Commonwealth Games will be delivered in a purpose-built arena within the Scottish Event Campus (SEC), marking a significant shift from the traditional standalone venue model used at previous Games.

Matches will be played using a set play format, a shot clock will be in operation, and portable rinks will once again be used following their successful introduction at the World Cup in Malaysia.

Speaking recently to Bowls International, Glasgow 2026 Sport Competition Manager Adam Paton said the multi sport environment presents an opportunity to showcase bowls and para bowls to new audiences while creating a different experience for athletes and spectators.

The Glasgow 2026 Bowls and Para Bowls competition will take place across all 10 days of the Games, from 23 July to 2 August.
