About the Club

Benfield Bowling Club was formed in 1952 and plays at Sam Smiths Sports Ground in Newcastle upon Tyne. The club welcomes players of different ages, backgrounds and abilities, with membership options including full, junior, casual, second-club and social membership. Members can take part in league and competition bowls, while informal roll-ups are also available without an obligation to join a league team. Qualified coaches offer Saturday morning sessions during the outdoor season, with bowls supplied for participants. The club also offers BowlsBash sessions for groups and non-members. Contact Benfield directly for current joining information, coaching arrangements and opportunities to visit.
