About the Club

Chester-le-Street Bowling Club dates from 1934 and welcomes men and women to its greens in Riverside Park, near the River Wear and Lumley Castle. The outdoor season normally runs from mid-April to mid-September. Members can play in local leagues or enjoy informal roll-ups, while visitors and beginners can ask about casual bowling and free taster sessions. Bowls and suitable shoes can be borrowed without an additional charge. Facilities are shared with Durham Croquet Club. Use the paid Riverside car park and contact the club to confirm current session times, membership options and green availability before visiting.
