Cortonwood Bowling Club

Cortonwood Bowling Club plays crown green bowls at the Cortonwood Miners Welfare grounds in Brampton Bierlow. The green lies beside Pontefract Road, within a wider community sports site accessed from Knollbeck Lane. The club is connected with the area's mining and welfare heritage and participates in local competitive bowling. Its teams compete in the Barnsley leagues, including Monday doubles. The welfare scheme identifies bowling as one of the sporting activities it supports in partnership with the club. Consult the local bowling association and league pages for club details, fixtures and results, and enquire about current playing opportunities.
