Hook & Southborough Bowls Club

Hook & Southborough Bowls Club has played bowls since 1905 and is based in King Edward's Recreation Ground in Chessington. The club welcomes people of all ages and abilities for outdoor lawn bowls from late April to September, with regular roll-ups, friendly matches, leagues and club competitions. Beginners can borrow bowls and receive help learning the game; flat shoes or trainers are requested. Short-mat bowls in the clubhouse and social events, including quizzes, continue beyond the outdoor season. Members and guests can relax at the licensed bar or on the deck overlooking the green. A club car park is reached through the allotments, and buses stop near the recreation ground. The council lists disabled access but no accessible toilets, so visitors with access needs should check arrangements before travelling.
