About the Club

Newport Bowling Club IOW plays outdoor bowls at Seaclose Recreation Ground in Newport. The club traces its roots to Carisbrooke Bowling Club, which played at the Eight Bells public house before moving to Newport. It has occupied its present Seaclose green since 1938. The outdoor season usually runs from the middle of April to the end of September. New players can contact the club to arrange an introduction, with equipment provided and flat-soled shoes required.
