Shaldon Bowling Club plays on the distinctive, irregularly shaped grass green in the centre of the village, surrounded by Georgian houses. The green was laid in 1913 on part of the former village green. Members take part in local leagues, friendly matches and club, county and national competitions, alongside regular roll-up sessions. Visitors can play when the public green is available, with bowls provided and flat shoes required. Newcomers can also ask about free trial sessions. Parking immediately around the green is restricted, with additional parking a few minutes' walk away.
