Founded in 1952, it owns its outdoor green, which is enclosed by a boundary wall dating from 1812. The playing surface was relaid in 2000, and the clubhouse occupies the site of a former Victorian greenhouse. Members take part in both Bowls England and English Bowls Federation leagues and competitions. The club also shares its facilities with bridge, lacemaking and photography groups, adding a wider social dimension.
