At just 17 years old, Auckland, New Zealand schoolboy Liam Hill is competing at his first Commonwealth Games, proudly representing Tonga and his father’s heritage.
Bowls is in Liam’s blood. His grandfather Neville Hill and uncle Jamie Hill have both represented New Zealand, while his mum Kirsty Hill is a reigning New Zealand Singles Champion.
Liam has already produced some incredible bowls in Glasgow, defeating South Africa’s Wayne Rittmuller, Niue’s Frederrick Tafatu and pushing unbeaten section leader Gary Kelly to a tiebreak in a thrilling match.
