Bowls Australia has announced the death of Australian Para Jackaroo and Commonwealth Games representative Helen Boardman, aged 64.

The Queenslander, a member of Northern Suburbs Bowls Club, represented Australia in vision-impaired bowls. At the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games she partnered Jake Fehlberg in mixed pairs, with Peter Doherty as her director, and finished fourth.

Her achievements included three consecutive Australian Open vision-impaired pairs titles with Fehlberg from 2022 to 2024, and a 2023 Multi Nations mixed pairs bronze medal with Fred McConnell.

Bowls Australia has extended its condolences to her family, friends and teammates.
