Mal Evans has been appointed Bowls England’s International Para Team Manager as preparations continue for the 2027 World Championships and British Bowls internationals.

He replaces Helen Lewis-Wall, who steps down after six years with the para programme. Stuart Thomas has also left his East Region scouting role to become Warwickshire Team Manager. Bowls England thanked both for their contributions.

Sandy Hazell, Kirk Smith and Nicola Bowe continue as women’s, men’s and junior team managers respectively.

British Bowls International Squad assessments are planned at Royal Leamington Spa on 22 or 23 May 2027; the squad day previously planned for 9 May will not take place. A para assessment day is scheduled for 16 May, with nomination details to follow.
