Congratulations to Campbeltown Bowling Club’s father-and-son duo, Gary and Jimmy Anderson, on winning the 2026 European Open Pairs.
After progressing through a full day of sectional play on Saturday, the pair successfully negotiated a further five knockout rounds, defeating several internationalists on their way to the final against Ayrshire duo Stuart Wyllie and Declan Shaw. In a thrilling 11-end final on the fast Northfield surface, the Andersons edged a closely fought contest 10-8 to claim the title.
Commiserations to Stuart and Declan, and thanks to Bowls Scotland Junior Vice President Maureen Wallace and CEO Malcolm Dingwall-Smith for making the medal presentations. Appreciation also goes to the umpires and volunteers whose hard work helped make the event such a success. 🏆
