New Zealand’s blind bowls national championships begin at Browns Bay Bowling Club on Monday 9 November, with singles and pairs providing preparation for the Blindjacks ahead of the 2027 world championships.

Bowls New Zealand’s update also celebrates Steve Delaney’s Para Bowls New Zealand national singles title in Nelson. The New Zealand Blind Lawn Bowls Association describes Delaney as the first vision-impaired player to win that event.

Meanwhile, 2025 New Zealand singles champion Matt Berry has volunteered to direct B2 player Gerald Brouwers at the blind bowls nationals. The association says a successful partnership could lead to the pair combining at the world championships in January.
