Ireland’s Megan Devlin was narrowly beaten by local player Joey Wong in the opening round of the Hong Kong Classic singles on 7 November, the Irish Bowls Federation reports.

Devlin lost the first set 4-6 before responding with an 8-3 second-set win. The federation says the three-end tie-break was level and required an extra end, which Wong won.

Devlin now turns to the pairs, teaming up with Lara Reaney from Monday 9 November.
