Para Bowls got underway at Glasgow 2026 on Friday, with the Mixed Pairs B2–B3 taking centre stage as part of the joint-largest Para Bowls programme ever offered at a Commonwealth Games.
Wales made the perfect start with Julie Thomas and director Jamie Jones, alongside Steffan James and director John Wilson, recording two wins from two against Australia and England.
Sectional play also continued in the Men’s Singles and Women’s Pairs, with seven men remaining unbeaten and the Channel Islands delivering two standout results. Commonwealth Games debutants Fiona Archibald and Sara Douglas of Jersey defeated hosts Scotland, while Guernsey’s Rose Ogier and Alison Merrien MBE claimed an impressive victory over Australia.
Northern Ireland, India and Malaysia finished the day as the only nations maintaining perfect records across both open disciplines.
